My co-workers keep asking me what I am doing because I look different! I lost 12 lbs and feel great! I am wearing jeans I haven’t fit in in years!
I started the bootcamp in Fall 2016 and moved into the Burn class in January; within 3 months I was down 20 pounds. I love the community, everyone is supportive of one another. The workouts are never the same and you are challenged daily to push yourself. My only regret is not finding this place sooner!
I feel better at 40 than I did at 30! I used to look for every excuse NOT to go to the gym and now I look for every excuse not to do all the other stuff I have to so I can go to the gym. I love this class!
This is an awesome gym. The owner, staff and patrons are extremely friendly. The place is huge and has a daycare area for the kids to play in.
Great place and so inviting! The coaches and the staff are laid back and let you achieve your goals at your pace. Definitely the one of the best places in Northern Virginia.
Awesome Box, Very friendly coaches. Great location.
Awesome facility. Steve is a great coach, very personable, welcoming, and helpful to everyone.
I love this place! The coaches are awesome and the CrossFit community at this gym is encouraging. If you ever were curious and want to try CrossFit this is THE place to come. Everyone is different and we all have different starting spots. DON’T let fear stop you from reaching your goals.
This place rocks! Steve is super personable and everyone regardless of their fitness level or knowledge of CrossFit will feel welcome and get an amazing workout!
During my 6+year CF journey I have been to many boxes in the DMV and through the Midwest. This gym is by FAR the best gym I have been to. The coaches, the facility, the members are all the best of the best. I can’t say enough about this CF gym. Go, you won’t regret it
Can’t imagine doing CrossFit anywhere else!
Great coaching, great people.
I have been working out there for over a year now. It excels in several important areas–they offers more classes and has so many exceptional instructors, it’s huge and has tons of equipment. They emphasize strength work (Olympic lifts and power lifting) but the metcon work we also do is more geared to getting everyone to the next level regardless where they are. They have offered structured nutrition classes, olympic seminars and monthly events and competitions and too many other extras to list here. The outstanding community and camaraderie is the icing on the cake. This is the crossfit box for anyone who has ever had a bad experience at another box. It would be a bargain at twice the price.
I can’t recommend Crossfit Lorton enough. One of the big differences between CrossFit gyms is the programming and coaching. Steve the owner is a great coach and puts together great daily workouts. One thing that I love about Crossfit Lorton is that the members and gym is easy going and friendly . If you are long time CrossFitter or new to the gym you will fit right in. I highly recommend CrossFit Lorton if you are looking for a new box or want to try CrossFit.
I am still on a high from how well 16.1 went! It wasn’t off the charts but I’m also not trying to go to the #crossfitgames. I do the #crossfitopen for ME. It’s a time when I push myself even more to do better and see what I can do. I set goals for the Open and this is my time to reach them. I can’t believe I did the amount of rounds I did on the overhead lunges. I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it through the first round, only because of those. I had to drop a few, but that’s ok. I’ve NEVER done that weight for that movement. I was finally able to do the bar a couple of months ago. I LOVECrossFit Lorton, the programming, my coaches and the athlete this gym is making me.
A year ago, I got tired just going up the stairs. All of my joints, especially my knees and ankles, creaked and popped. I still had a little bit of baby “weight” that would not go away after the birth of my fourth child, mostly because the only exercise I got was a daunting run with a jogging stroller once or twice a month and maybe some sit ups every now and then. I was only in my 30’s but I already felt so old. My husband had been trying to convince me that CrossFit was the best way to get back into shape for years, but it was all so intimidating to me. I didn’t know where to start, and I was really afraid I would hurt myself. I needed someone to show me how to do everything, but that didn’t seem possible.
I began coming in almost every day and in only a few weeks I no longer felt old, sluggish, or weak. Steve pushed me harder than any coach I ever had back in high school, yet it was never too much and ultimately at the pace I was willing to go. Well, it has been nearly 10 months since I first walked into CrossFit Lorton, and I can honestly say, I am stronger than I was 10 years ago…maybe the strongest I have ever been in my life. I feel different, more confident, more aware of my abilities and less afraid of what I cannot do. I never lost the baby “weight” – I weigh about the same – but I dropped several sizes in clothes and feel better about my appearance than I have in a very long time. I almost don’t recognize myself in the mirror sometimes!
Honestly, I feel I owe it all to Steve. Had it not been for his down-to-earth website I would probably never have stepped foot into CrossFit Lorton. What kept me coming back was his coaching style: tailored, honest, simple, experienced. But most of all Steve makes it fun! I really enjoy being around the people I have come to know at the gym and consider them my friends and role models.
Thanks, Steve, for all you do for everyone, and all you have done for me. Don’t ever stop pushing me to be better!
Todayt I have officially lost over 50 lbs! I couldn’t have done it without you and CF Lorton! Thank You!
I started in January and have lost 20 lbs and 6% Bodyfat! I can’t wait for summer!
Have never experienced a CrossFit box like Lorton!
It’s a great facility! My instructor Stephanie has been phenomenal!
CrossFit Lorton is a great gym with amazing leadership (owner and coaches). The childcare is included in membership and the other members are like a family. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Every day is a new challenge. I love being there!
I love everything about CrossFit Lorton, the motivational and knowledgable instructors who are getting it done and pushing their limits. Talking the talking while walking the walk! My kids have a place to play and exert their own energy while I get to some serious conditioning. LOVE IT
This place is awesome! Steve and Angelo are very welcoming and their coaching is outstanding! You get the attention you need for lifts and the WODs are never boring! The people here are fantastic! I love this place!
Love this place! Owner motivates on all levels. Joining has made me a better person!
This is a fantastic place! Love the Coaches and the Coaching.
Awesome coaches, awesome people. Love this place.
CrossFit Lorton is an amazing place!! Steve is by far the best thing that has ever happened to Lorton! If you need a little motivation and/or a kick in the butt… CrossFit Lorton is for you.
New to the area so we dropped in today to try it out. Steve (owner) was very accommodating and personable. They have a great space too. One of the largest boxes we’ve seen. Most of all, we could immediately sense the positive community they have at CF Lorton. The members were super friendly. They already invited us to some of the social shindigs they have planned outside of the box. Considering this, and that they have free childcare during some weekday WODs, we decided to join up today.
LynnI highly recommend this boot camp! Steve Reggio is motivational, knowledgeable, and you will see results!! I just finished the last boot camp! Any intimidation I ever had about CrossFit was squelched. This boot camp is for everyone! The group I was in was a great mix of people of varying abilities and ages!!! Love CrossFit Lorton and the Boot Camp! Great introduction to CrossFit!!! If you’re thinking about joining….Just! Do! It! You won’t regret it!!! Join before it fills up!
Can’t say enough about CrossFit Lorton! This is my third year doing The CrossFit Games open workouts and my first year officially registered for the open. Many crossfit boxes hold a Friday night event during the open, called Friday Night Lights. Steve Reggio owner of CFL, the biggest box in the area, does an incredible job bringing all of us together for a Friday night competition and community get together. Thanks Steve!
I started at CrossFit Lorton near the end of 2013. I was 35 years old and weighed in at 285 pounds. This was the side effect of a high stress job, long hours, rotating shifts, poor eating habits and an overall sedentary lifestyle. This is not who I wanted to be or the self-image that I had for myself. I was a former gym rat, and prior service (US Army). My brother-in-law introduced me to CrossFit and we started participating in a couple WODS a week at the old CrossFit Lorton location. The workouts were extremely difficult but the coaches scaled them to my capabilities and kept on me to maintain proper form while correcting me whenever I was getting lazy. At first I came in dead last for almost every WOD and looked forward to AMRAP days because there was a time cap.
The atmosphere at Lorton is what has really kept me going. There are a lot of hard-charging athletes here at the pinnacle of fitness and yet none of them looked down on me, instead they lifted me up during the workouts. There is a saying in CrossFit that it is “the only sport where the loudest cheers are for the last to finish.” This holds true at CrossFit Lorton, I have seen it over and over again in my year at this gym. I have stumbled during this process but I’ve had even more success.
Today I weigh 220 lbs and have never had this much energy, even compared to when I was in the military. In 2014 I competed in CF Lorton’s first Festivus games and placed top 5 in the novice division. I plan on competing in the next Festivus at the intermediate level and have been trying my hand at the 2015 Open workouts. There has been a dramatic change in my level of endurance. I went from being winded walking to my car to training for my first half marathon on March 22nd, 2015. This year I have run 180 miles and have a goal of 1000 miles for 2015. Most importantly I have the energy to keep up with my two sons, ages 3.5 and 11 months. I credit this change to the coaches and members of CrossFit Lorton.
