The Laws of Growth and How to Achieve Goals

Have you ever read The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth by John Maxwell? It’s a GREAT book that has a powerful message.

In chapter 7, John says “Most people allow their lives to simply happen to them. They float along. They wait. They react. And by the time a large portion of their life is behind them, they realize that they should have been more proactive and strategic.”

This connects directly to Mondays Blog about controlling your life. You are the CEO, that happens when you take proactive action to make that life great!

I first want to applaud YOU for being proactive by taking action!! You clicked on this blog and you have read this far, that is a huge first step.

You got clear on what you wanted. You made a decision to take action. You’re creating daily habits that will shape your body and mind.

Just the fact that you’re reading this email shows your commitment to your goals.

Your journey happens one day at a time, one workout at a time, one meal at a time, one decision at a time.

One way that you can do this is to follow my 3 x 3 method.

The 3 x 3 method consists of each night plan out the upcoming day, listing out the 3 most important actions for the next day that focus on the top 3 areas of your life!

Make sure that of the 3 actions you have listed for the next day, at least 2 are focused on those 3 areas…and ideally all 3.

I’d also suggest prioritizing the 3 activities…1, 2 and 3. That way, if things go astray you can at least get 1 or 2 really valuable things done that will move you toward your goals.

So you may be thinking ‘what about everything else?’

List it.

Put it on the schedule if it’s an appointment that needs to get done.

But DO NOT let it take precedent over the big 3.

There are a dozen reasons why this approach will help you, from forcing you to really separate activity from achievement to getting some momentum from the sense of accomplishment you’ll feel by finishing truly important things.

So unless you’re already super productive, give the 3 x 3 method a try.

Now take a minute to reflect on what you’ve learned about yourself over the past 3 days now that you are taking conntrol of your life!  Be proud of yourself for each mini-accomplishment and each decision you make that moves you forward instead of backward.

When you start to do this you will look back at your first few days and be so proud of yourself for starting this journey. I promise.

Keep it up!
