What is CrossFit Lorton?

CrossFit Lorton is an exercise program consisting of constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity.  CrossFit believes that the magic is in the movements and this is the reason that we don't train muscles, we train movements.  To do this CrossFit employs methods from the Olympic lifts, Power lifting, gymnastics, plyometrics, kettlebells and body weight exercises. 

Who is CrossFit Lorton for?

The easy answer is- everyone.  It does not matter if you are in shape or you are not in shape, CrossFit Lorton will increase your fitness level and get you the results you want.  At CrossFit locations all over the country you will find men, women, athletes, non-athletes, soldiers, police officers, fire fighters, grandmas and grandpas all doing the same workout right next to each other.  CrossFit is hard work and is not for the timid, but if you are willing to give it a try and put in the work I guarantee that you will get results. 

Why CrossFit Lorton?

This is another easy answer- because it works!  We know it works because we time you, track your reps, track your weights and measure each and every workout.  This allows you to see improvements and gauge your progress over time.  This constant measurement enables us to find your weaknesses so that we can work on them and make them strengths.

Unlike the typical “Big Box” gym we don’t just sign you up, show you the locker rooms and then hope you stop coming.  We take pride in getting results for our clients and if you don’t show up for a while you can bet I’ll be giving you a call.

How is CrossFit Lorton run?

CrossFit combines all of these exercise modalities into a Workout of the Day (WOD) which is completed in a small group setting.  In this small group setting you will get individualized instruction as well as become a part of the CrossFit Lorton community built upon shared accomplishments and achievements.   In this group you will push each other to greater limits than you thought possible.

Why is CrossFit Lorton better?

CrossFit Lorton focuses on movements not muscles so we do things a little differently than what you see most people at your gym doing.  CrossFit Lorton uses methods that build you from the ground up and train you to become stronger and more fit for real life applications.  By focusing on movements you will be able to transfer your new strength to things you do everyday like picking up that ever growing kid, your luggage at the airport or using it in a sport.   Most importantly for our military and first responders this new strength and fitness level could very well save your life.

How do I get started?

Just come on in, wear proper workout clothing, basically anything you would wear to any gym.  I’ll let you try it out for a week at no cost and with no obligation.
